Huawei sub-brand Honor launched the Honor 8X in India in the month of October 2018. With the Honor 8X, the smartphone company wanted to take on the likes of phones like Redmi Note 6 Pro, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, Nokia 6.1 Plus and other devices that were available under Rs 15,000 back then. The Honor 8X comes packed with several top-notch features like HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor. To recollect the Honor 8X was launched in India running Android Oreo software with EMUI 8.2.0 on top of it. Android 9 Pie Coming to Honor 8X On Monday, Honor has announced that Android 9 Pie software will roll out to the Honor 8X soon. The company has revealed that the update will reach the users in batches starting March 18, 2019. So, now that it is a staged software update rollout it might take quite some time for all the Honor 8X phone users to experience Android 9 Pie. With the EMUI 9.0 update on board, the Honor 8X users will get upgraded to a new design and several new features of Android 9 Pie. One of the many features that the Honor 8X users will get after the software update will be Digital Balance. With the help of Digital Balance, the users will be able to track their smartphone habits. The feature will allow users to not only understand but also tackle their smartphone usage. The Digital Balance will help users curb excessive usage with app usage timers. In addition, Honor has mentioned that the new update will bring AR scanning support which will work with the help of image recognition technology. This feature will help Honor 8X users to identify a product and buy it. Reportedly with the new Android 9 Pie update based on EMUI 9.0 Honor 8X may also get the latest monthly security patch, but there’s no information regarding the same from the company as of now.
